Overview
Enterprise Products Partners L.P. is a leading North American provider of midstream energy services, offering various services related to natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals. The Mechanical Technician Trainee position provides training and experience necessary to become a qualified Mechanical Technician in the pipeline industry.
Responsibilities
- Work side-by-side with a mentor to undergo training for 9-24 months.
- Participate in a variety of training courses including computer-based and instructor-led training.
- Receive on-the-job training for troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, repairing, and operating equipment.
- Maintain all equipment to the highest quality in a timely manner while minimizing costs.
- Complete all assigned training programs successfully.
- Participate in required safety meetings and comply with safety policies and procedures.
- Review procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Optimize work to minimize overtime.
- Perform remedial and preventative maintenance and maintain safety through good housekeeping practices.
- Use and wear all PPE when required.
Requirements
- A high school degree or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- A vocational – technical certification or an Associate’s degree in Electronics or related field is required.
- A minimum of 6 months to 1 year mechanic experience in a related field is preferred.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
- Ability to read and understand, analyze and interpret documents and equipment repair manuals.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations is required.
- Basic computer skills such as using Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, are required.
- Takes initiative and is proactive in addressing issues.
- Demonstrates conscientiousness, dependability, and commitment to the role.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in industrial and electrical environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and transport loads up to 75 lbs.
- Must wear special safety equipment and be able to lift emergency breathing apparatus.
- Ability to take call-outs and work overtime is required.
