Overview

The Facility Technician will ensure compliance with laws and safety policies while performing skilled and technical duties related to facility maintenance. UG2, founded in 2012 and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, is committed to innovation and excellence in facility services.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain boilers, compressors, refrigeration equipment, generators, and related equipment.
  • Perform facility rounds on equipment and maintain mechanical, HVAC, electrical, piping, and plumbing systems.
  • Repair and replace toilet and water closet components, sinks, faucets, soap dispensers, and paper towel dispensers.
  • Repair and replace tile and grout as appropriate.
  • Maintain lighting fixtures by replacing lights, ballasts, and drivers.
  • Replace carpet squares as required by the facility.
  • Perform water treatment on cooling towers, chilled water, and boiler water.
  • Maintain and repair refrigeration compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related components.
  • Operate and maintain boilers and hot water pumps.
  • Facilitate the maintenance and repair of natural gas distribution lines.
  • Operate and maintain water filters, softeners, piping, expansion tanks, and pumps.
  • Operate and maintain water supply lines, drains, control devices, and sprinkler systems.
  • Operate and maintain electrical motors and engines for pumps, compressors, generators, and fans.
  • Troubleshoot and repair motor controls and related equipment drivers.
  • Operate and maintain fuel oil system components.
  • Use an energy/building management/automation system.
  • Maintain inventory control for parts and materials.
  • Maintain and repair the physical condition of electrical, mechanical, and facility shop spaces.
  • Paint and patch drywall as appropriate.
  • Repair property owned furniture using glue and clamps.
