Job Description
Overview
This entry-level Structural Engineer position at Sargent & Lundy, targeting a start date in Summer 2027, offers the opportunity to apply and expand academic knowledge in structural engineering through various projects related to nuclear facilities. The role involves collaboration with engineers and designers, focusing on structural analysis and design.
Responsibilities
- Team up with engineers and designers on the design of new nuclear facilities and modifications.
- Prepare design calculations and develop specifications.
- Support designers with drawing development.
- Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations.
- Conduct structural analyses for loading conditions such as wind and seismic.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Structural/Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- Completion of coursework in steel and concrete design.
- Knowledge of structural engineering principles and techniques.
- Understanding of loads analysis for structural supports.
- Knowledge of structural design techniques and tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
