Job Description

Overview

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Fabrication & Manufacturing Supervisor to lead our specialty vehicle manufacturing and fabrication shop, which focuses on building specialty truck bodies and armored cash-in-transit vehicle conversions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise welders, fabricators, fitters, and assembly personnel.
  • Plan and assign daily production work.
  • Monitor quality, workmanship, productivity, and schedule performance.
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Help troubleshoot fit-up, welding, fabrication, and production issues.
  • Work hands-on with employees when production demands require it.
  • Train and develop employees and reinforce proper manufacturing methods.
  • Hold employees accountable for quality, attendance, productivity, and safety.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and Management to resolve production issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory or lead experience in welding, fabrication, manufacturing, truck body, trailer, heavy equipment, or similar environment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of metal fabrication and welding.
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings and understand weld symbols.
  • Experience leading skilled trades employees.
  • Strong mechanical and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs and changing production priorities.
  • Willingness to work on the shop floor and assist employees directly when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to hold employees accountable fairly and consistently.
  • Experience with MIG welding, press brakes, laser-cut components, steel fabrication, stainless steel, aluminum, specialty vehicles, or custom manufacturing is strongly preferred.
