Overview

Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices nationwide, currently seeking Structural Welders in Newport News, VA. They offer $120/day per diem for qualified applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welds using flux core, stick, and mig pulse processes.
  • Use a heat oxygen/propane heating torch.

Requirements

  • Complete air carbon arc gouging.
  • Properly use fillet and butt gauges.
  • Thorough knowledge of various metals characteristics and qualities.
  • Understand the correct welding processes required and the effects of welding on the material.
  • Follow OSHA safety regulations.
  • Maintain welding equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Minimum 10 years of naval/commercial pulse welding experience.
  • Successfully pass several tests over a three-week period.
  • Familiar with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
  • Pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Comfortable with heights and in confined spaces.
  • Lift 50lbs without assistance.
  • Understand the layout of the ship and compartment identification.
  • Must be a US citizen.
