Overview
Tarpon Specialty Services is hiring Tackers and Pipe Fitter Helpers for active industrial projects in the Walker / Baton Rouge, LA area. This role involves supporting experienced pipe fitters and welders in the layout, fit-up, and installation of piping systems, offering a great opportunity to build a craft career with a focus on safety, craftsmanship, and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Assist pipe fitters with layout, fit-up, and assembly of piping components
- Perform basic tacking and prep work under supervision
- Cut, grind, clean, and stage materials as directed
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Follow all company safety policies and site-specific procedures
- Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Tacker or Pipe Fitter Helper preferred
- Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude will be considered
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, grinders, and torches
- Safety-conscious, dependable, and ready to work
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must pass a drug screen and background check
- Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite
Additional Information
- Full-time — 40+ hours per week with overtime available
