Overview

We are seeking an experienced Welder to join a metal fabrication and machinery production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong MIG welding experience, with additional experience in TIG and/or stick welding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform production welding on fabricated metal components and assemblies.
  • Primarily perform MIG welding, with TIG and stick welding as needed.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
  • Weld components according to required dimensions, alignment, and specifications.
  • Inspect welds for quality, consistency, penetration, and defects.
  • Set up and adjust welding equipment for different materials and applications.
  • Select appropriate welding processes, settings, and consumables.
  • Use grinders and other hand/power tools to prepare and finish welds.
  • Identify and correct welding or fit-up issues when necessary.
  • Work with fitters and other fabrication team members to complete assemblies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous professional experience as a Welder in a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Strong MIG welding experience required.
  • TIG and/or stick welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings or blueprints.
  • Experience welding structural or heavy metal components is a plus.
  • Ability to set up and adjust welding equipment independently.
  • Familiarity with grinders, cutting tools, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Strong attention to weld quality and detail.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with fitters and other shop personnel.

Additional Information

  • Location: Siler City, NC 27344
  • Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
  • Hours: 40 hours/week, with overtime as needed
  • Contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for permanent placement after approximately 520 hours.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Stick work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
