Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that impacts millions globally through technology that enhances agricultural productivity and infrastructure. The Aluminum Welder position involves welding metal components for communication towers and sign structures, requiring attention to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Fuse or weld metal structural components using GMAW arc welding.
  • Perform welding operations with limited planning from blueprints.
  • Utilize safety devices and wear mandatory personal protective equipment.
  • Adjust welding equipment to prescribed settings.
  • Maintain and operate production tooling and fixtures safely.
  • Read and complete labor reporting and standard shop forms.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One to three years of hands-on MIG welding experience in a production environment.
  • Ability to calculate simple mathematics and interpret shop drawings.
  • Basic working knowledge of computer programs like Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to read weld symbols and understand blueprints.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes preferred.
