Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that impacts millions globally through technology that enhances agricultural productivity and infrastructure. The Submerged Arc Seam Welder position involves setting up and operating welding machines to produce seamed welds on pole shafts during the evening shift.

Responsibilities

• Fuse metal structural components using Submerged Arc Welding processes.
• Perform welding operations from blueprints and specifications.
• Use hand tools and measuring devices for assembly operations.
• Move pole shafts using an overhead crane.
• Maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an internal welding test.
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters.
• Knowledge of welding properties of various metals.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Ability to calculate formulas using basic mathematics.
• Ability to recognize and solve practical problems.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to pay attention to detail and follow instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Wear required personal protective equipment.

• Starting wage $26.32/hr plus $1.50/hr shift differential.
