Overview

The HVAC / Refrigeration Technician is responsible for maintaining ammonia refrigeration systems and associated equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinating maintenance activities to support production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains ammonia refrigeration system and associated equipment.
  • Performs PMs and repairs on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, vessels, valves, and other machinery.
  • Works with refrigeration contractors, electricians, and pipefitters to ensure safety and work standards.
  • Coordinates operations and maintenance utilities equipment for continuous operation.
  • Assists in recordkeeping and training for Process Safety Management/Risk compliance.
  • Provides technical analysis and real-time data on refrigeration and operational equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance to keep equipment in good working condition.
  • Troubleshoots electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and plumbing issues.
  • Utilizes technical records and vendor diagrams for Preventative Maintenance documents.
  • Handles maintenance emergencies as required.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area.
