Overview

GreenWood, Inc. is actively recruiting for a Pipe Welder Journeyman position at the Mitsubishi site in Greer, SC. This is a Regular Full-Time, Non-Exempt role focused on completing welds on pipes according to specified standards without the need for travel.

Responsibilities

  • Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other material by applying appropriate welding techniques
  • Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process to be used
  • Inspects completed welds to determine structural soundness
  • Assists with tests on new components, assemblies, and systems based on test criteria
  • Uses, maintains, and possesses required hand tools necessary to perform assigned tasks
  • Participates in daily toolbox talks
  • Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience in pipe systems, testing processes, and equipment in the welding field
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency
  • Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work
  • Demonstrates ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and quality
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates a high level of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions with minimal supervision
  • Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations

Additional Information

  • Employees normally work Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm, 40 hours per week and occasional overtime as needed
  • Position is designated as a safety-sensitive role
  • No travel required and no per diem offered
