Cerris Builders is seeking a Quality Control Specialist (Civil/Structural) to support the QA/QC Site Supervisor in executing the QA/QC program. The company values quality craftsmanship and employee growth, offering a competitive pay and benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of the project QA/QC program.
  • Review specifications, drawings, submittals, and other contract documents for compliance.
  • Inspect materials and installation processes during construction.
  • Coordinate and conduct required tests and inspections for compliance.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and QA/QC documents.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCAs).
  • Work with project teams and stakeholders to resolve quality issues.
  • Perform internal audits to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Prepare and submit QA/QC documentation for records handover.
  • Monitor and verify testing equipment for proper calibration.
  • Refer questions to QA/QC Site Supervisor or department QA/QC Manager.
  • Conduct actions in a professional manner and comply with company policies.
  • Continuously develop proficiency in the role.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and workspace.
  • Participate in company safety and quality programs.
  • Promote safety culture and awareness throughout the company.
  • Utilize relevant company-related technology to support responsibilities.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in installation or design of mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office and construction management software.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and plumbing codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to identify and implement best practice standards.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to change and manage competing demands.
  • Proactive and resourceful in problem-solving.
  • Associate's degree or HVAC certification or equivalent experience.
  • CWI and NACE certifications preferred.
  • Mechanical or Plumbing license preferred.
  • 3 years of related work experience in the construction industry required.
  • 2 years in HVAC, pipefitting, or plumbing industries preferred.

Additional Information

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Normal construction site environment with periods in office.
  • Requires travel to job sites and occasional overnight travel.
  • Frequent activity includes standing, walking, bending, and climbing.
  • Safety-sensitive position requiring focus on safety hazards.
