Overview

MasTec Industrial and Phoenix Industrial have been providing vital industrial infrastructure across North America since 1947, focusing on energy transition, industrial processing, and power generation. The Ironworker Helper IV role involves assisting in the construction and modification of structural steel frameworks as part of a crew.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret measuring tools to perform tasks accurately.
  • Assist in setting up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural-steel members.
  • Guide steel members into position using tag lines.
  • Align holes in members with corresponding holes in previously placed members.
  • Assist in bolting aligned members until they can be permanently secured.
  • Cut and weld steel members using various tools and equipment.
  • Work in other crafts as requested by project supervision.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project specific regulations.
  • Ability to participate in daily toolbox meetings and set a personal example of safe behavior.
  • Read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Perform basic arithmetic operations and understand measurements.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work within precise standards.
