Overview

Wheeler Machinery Co. is seeking a full-time Welder to join their team in Salt Lake City, UT. The role involves welding and fabricating various metals, interpreting blueprints, and maintaining a focus on safety while working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and work safely in all aspects of the job.
  • Be a safety champion within the team and drive continued safety improvements.
  • Train a teachable employee in needed areas.
  • Collaborate with the manager and team leader to solve problems.
  • Read blueprints and identify markings.
  • Perform horizontal and vertical welding with 1/16 100 series wire.
  • Read inside and outside micrometers.
  • Set up and weld series of bores.
  • Fabricate from prints and weld projects.
  • Tig weld in flat position using Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum.
  • Locate specifications from service information sheets.
  • Order parts as needed.
  • Write service reports.
  • Perform precision measuring.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must be willing to put in extra hours to take care of the customer.
  • Must be a team player and work well with others.
  • Must have a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Must be able to perform tasks without constant supervision.
  • Must always keep a safety mindset.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Ability to resolve problems when they arise.
