Overview

Depot Connect International (DCI) is a global leader in the Tank/ISO Tank Container Services and Tank Trailer Parts industry, headquartered in Tampa, Florida, with over 160 locations worldwide and a team of over 3,500 employees. The Tank Welder Helper role involves assisting tank welders and mechanics with various tasks related to tank maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Pressure test tanks, drain and dry out tanks.
  • Repair and replace tank container valves, gaskets, and gauges.
  • Operate hoists, cranes, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Observe and listen to mechanical devices to diagnose causes of mechanical issues.
  • Repair and replace defective parts, inspect and adjust used parts.
  • Lubricate and clean parts.
  • Operate lathe, drill press and grinders.
  • Use hand tools and power tools.
  • Buff tanks as needed.

Requirements

  • Candidates will possess a mechanical background.
  • Possess good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to wear a respirator and be comfortable with heights on top of tanks.
  • Work in enclosed spaces inside of tanks.
