Overview

The Auto Body Worker position at the New York City Police Department involves repairing damaged vehicles as part of the Fleet Services Division, which is responsible for the upkeep of all NYPD vehicles and those from other city agencies.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to the body of damaged NYPD vehicles.

Requirements

• Five years of full-time satisfactory experience as an auto body worker performing body repair work or vehicle modification.
• At least three years of full-time satisfactory experience as an auto body worker plus sufficient satisfactory full-time experience as an auto body worker apprentice or relevant training.
• Possession of a Certificate of Fitness Type G-60 Torch Use of Flammable Gases for Hot Work Operations issued by the New York City Fire Department.
• At the time of appointment, appointees must possess a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York.
