Overview
Our client designs and builds electronic components for aerospace, defense and space programs. They need a Mechanical Engineer who is comfortable with thermal modeling and electronics layout review.
Responsibilities
- Design enclosures, chassis, brackets and structures for electronic assemblies.
- Own thermal design from first-principles analysis through to qualification.
- Analyze radiative and conductive heat transfer for vacuum and orbital environments.
- Run thermal and structural simulations and correlate models with test data.
- Support environmental test campaigns, including thermal cycling and vibration.
- Work closely with electrical engineers on component placement and routing.
- Take designs through DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, and design reviews.
Requirements
- A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience designing mechanical systems that house electrical components.
- Strong grounding in thermodynamics and heat transfer.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or CATIA, plus GD&T.
- Hands-on experience with analysis and environmental testing.
- Working electronics knowledge, including reading schematics.
