Overview

Knightwerx is seeking a highly skilled Aero Mechanical Engineer to develop a small unmanned electric aircraft in a fast-paced environment that values innovation and reliability. The role involves collaboration with a team of engineers to design and produce aircraft components from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the aeromechanical team in the design and development of a small unmanned aircraft airframe.
  • Contribute to the airframe design, including component layout, weight and balance, materials selection, CAD, prototyping, and fabrication.
  • Develop aircraft component concepts for trade studies.
  • Work with the lead aeromechanical engineer to understand needs for component designs.
  • Collaborate closely with MDO, aerodynamic, propulsion, and avionics engineers to implement cross-discipline engineering decisions into components.
  • Execute build, analysis, and test plans for aircraft components.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years experience developing small unmanned, electric aircraft or similar field.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and produce lightweight aircraft components, perform analysis and testing of aircraft components.
  • Must have US citizenship.
  • On-site, collaborative work environment.
