Overview

Sedgman is hiring a Structural Engineer for their Phoenix, AZ office. This role involves providing technical support on structural engineering projects, including design, investigation, project management, and report preparation.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for structural and concrete designs ensuring compliance with relevant codes and industry standards.
• Perform concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs.
• Perform detailed concrete and steel design, including interaction with Drafters to produce models and documentation in line with QA Compliance.
• Assist with construction enquiries, including safe lifting and erection.
• Interface with other Engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Process, and Mechanical.
• Focus on technical innovation and continuous improvement.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
• 5-7 years of structural engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a lead or senior role.
• Must be eligible to register with the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration to obtain the Professional Engineer licensing (P.E.); knowledge & experience with Arizona building code is desirable.
• Strong understanding of steel and concrete design for heavy industrial structures.
• Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in design/consultancy/operational environments.
• Previous mining or metals industry experience is highly desired.
• Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities, and activities.
• Well-developed communication and negotiation skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship.
