How this job compares in Louisville, KY

Pay in context

At roughly $36/hr, this posting lands within a few percent of the $34/hr median for welding jobs across Kentucky, whose middle half runs $27–$45/hr across 8 postings with published pay. Put another way, it pays more than about 75% of the comparable postings we have wage data for. In other words it is a market-rate offer, so benefits, overtime, and shift schedule are where the real difference between this and the next posting on the list shows up.

The local market in Louisville, KY

Louisville, KY currently has 3 other active welding openings besides this one, spread across 3 employers. None of them were added in the last week, so this is a slower-moving market. Across Kentucky as a whole we're tracking 15 other active welding openings from 13 employers. That's enough local activity to be worth comparing two or three offers before committing. Browse every welding job in Louisville, or widen the search to Kentucky.

The most active employers in Kentucky at the moment, by number of open welding reqs, are SU Solutions (2) and Messer Construction Co. (2). Volume like that usually means either a genuine expansion or a staffing agency working several client sites — worth knowing which before you apply.

Certifications this posting mentions

  • ASME Section IX — the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code qualification. It covers welding on pressure-retaining equipment — boilers, vessels, and process piping — where a failed weld is a safety incident rather than a rework ticket.

Read straight from this posting's text. Confirm the exact qualification the employer wants before you test — requirements vary by shop even under the same code.
