Overview

The Sheet Metal Worker Supervisor position is located in the UNICOR metal factory of a Bureau of Prisons' federal correctional facility. The role involves training and directing an inmate work crew in various metalworking operations while maintaining security at the institution.

Responsibilities

  • Train, motivate, and direct an inmate work crew in metalworking operations.
  • Oversee shearing, stamping, piercing, notching, lay-out, benching, forming, assembling, welding, and packing operations.
  • Work under the supervision of the General Foreman or factory management.
  • Maintain security of the institution as a primary responsibility.
