Overview

Total Safety is seeking a Fire Technician to join their safety-conscious team, providing service, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair for various fire equipment. The company is a premier provider of integrated safety and compliance services.

Responsibilities

• Perform shop service and/or field inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire equipment.
• Complete all documentation associated with inspection and repair in a timely and accurate manner.
• Learn to conduct detailed visual inspections and system functional tests of various systems and equipment.
• Learn to conduct pre-job, job update and post-job completion briefs.
• Assist others in facilities including stocking shelves and loading customer orders.
• Maintain work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer.
• Learn to rig-up and use a wide range of safety equipment.
• Assist others as needed.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.
• Must possess a safe driving record and be insurable for company vehicle insurance.
• Forklift experience is considered a plus.
• Must pass internal forklift certification as required.
• Must be willing to travel to customer’s site for short and long-term projects.
• Must be able to obtain TWIC card and pass required safety testing.
• Have or obtain applicable State Fire Licenses or pass NICET Level II testing within 12 months of hire.
• Demonstrated ability to operate electronic safety equipment and understand fire systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose assigned equipment problems.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards pertaining to assigned responsibilities.
• Must have knowledge of applicable Code of Federal Regulations.
• Proficiency in the care and use of site-specific Personal Protection Equipment.
• Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment.
