Overview

Responsibilities

• Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping to required specifications.
• Fabricate parts and structures according to project requirements using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Inspect welds for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as needed.
• Operate fork trucks, overhead cranes, jib cranes, and other mobile equipment for material movement.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on welding experience, including MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.
• Strong knowledge of metal properties and structural fabrication, including stainless steel.
• Able to operate fabrication tools such as pipe rollers, beveling machines, and orbital welding systems.
• Experience working with preheat, interpass temperature control, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT).
• Proficiency in pipe preparation: beveling, root gap setup, fit up, and alignment.
• Excellent measuring and math skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends, is essential based on business needs.
• Experience with piping runs and stainless-steel operations (code compliance preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently under deadlines.
• Welding certification or trade school education is a plus.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and P&IDs.
• Layout, align, and secure pipe sections using clamps, supports, and fixtures.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
• Reliability and a safety-focused mindset.
• Mandatory physical requirements: Must be able to consistently lift 35 lbs., squat, bend, and perform physical tasks as required.

Additional Information

• This position is based at our Product Company in Michigan City, United States (US).
• Standard shifts are 8 hours.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends, is essential based on business needs.
