Job Description
Overview
Hutco, Inc. is currently looking for 1st Class Structural Fitter and Ship Fitters to work in Bourg, La. Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience working in Shipyards.
Responsibilities
- Perform layout, fabrication, installation, testing, and repair of pipe systems.
- Fit pipe and prepare joints for welding according to system requirements.
- Work from blueprints and create fabrication sketches.
- Comprehend blueprints, sketches, and templates.
- Operate machines and tools essential to the Ship Fitter position.
- Enter and work in confined spaces.
- Manipulate and transport loads up to 50 pounds over distances of up to 200 feet.
- Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights.
- Ascend and work at heights of up to 30 feet.
- Perform physical tasks including stooping, squatting, twisting, kneeling, lifting, and reaching.
Requirements
- Must pass drug test and E-Verify.
- At least 3 years of experience working in Shipyards.
- Knowledge of equipment, work processes, and techniques for the role.
