Overview

Signs of the Times is seeking a skilled Custom Cabinet / Sign Fabricator to join their production team. The ideal candidate will have experience fabricating sign cabinets, raceways, monuments, and other custom sign components, and must be able to read shop drawings and operate fabrication equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate sign cabinets, raceways, monument structures, and other custom sign components.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Assemble aluminum, steel, acrylic, and other sign materials to specification.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including saws, brakes, shears, drills, routers, and other shop tools.
  • Prepare materials for painting, wiring, and final assembly.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet company and customer standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Work closely with project managers, installers, and other fabrication team members to meet production schedules.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and staging completed projects.

Requirements

  • Previous sign fabrication or metal fabrication experience preferred.
  • Experience building sign cabinets, raceways, and structural sign components.
  • Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings and measurements.
  • Knowledge of aluminum and steel fabrication techniques.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to lift materials and work safely in a production environment.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Preference given to those with sign experience.
  • Welding (MIG/TIG) experience.
  • Sign industry experience.
  • Electrical sign assembly experience.
  • Experience with illuminated sign construction and assembly.

What you'll be running

It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
