Overview

The Sheet Metal Worker is responsible for fabricating custom materials by reading assembly instructions and drawings, cleaning sheet metal parts, and ensuring quality control standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the sheet metal trade.
  • Use a pressure washer to clean sheet metal parts.
  • Operate various sheet metal shears, brake presses, roll formers, and other sheet metal operations.
  • Read blueprints and metal layout drawings for fitting and fabricating metal products.
  • Accurately measure and use math skills to determine the kind and quantity of materials needed.
  • Select types of sheet metal or nonmetallic material correctly.
  • Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets and drill holes for screws, bolts, and rivets.
  • Install metal sheets with supportive frameworks effectively.
  • Make required calculations and use tapes and rulers to lay out work prior to cutting or stamping parts.

Requirements

  • Sheet metal experience preferred.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
