Penn Medicine is a leading academic medical center focused on providing high-quality patient care, conducting innovative research, and educating future medical leaders. The Maintenance Mechanic I role involves learning and performing basic maintenance tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist MII and MIII mechanics with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs
  • Replace filters on HVAC systems
  • Lubricate motors, bearings, and moving parts
  • Perform minor plumbing tasks such as replacing faucet washers and plunging toilets
  • Handle minor electrical tasks like changing light bulbs and minor fixture repairs
  • Safely use basic hand tools and power tools
  • Conduct daily inspection rounds under supervision
  • Document maintenance tasks
  • Perform minor carpentry and painting
  • Keep mechanical rooms clean and clutter-free
  • Assist with snow removal and rock salting
  • Set up classrooms and maintain outside drains by clearing leaves, snow, and debris
  • Respond to emergency situations to resolve safety concerns such as flooding and major leaks
  • Perform grounds-related functions to maintain a healthy and attractive environment
  • Engage in other minor troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs based on OJT training progression

Requirements

  • Driver's License (Required)
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • 0-1 years of experience
