Overview

The Instrumentation Machinist performs bench and precision machining operations for the construction, modification, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of various manufacturing facilities and equipment. This role requires independent planning and execution of work assignments with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan work assignments and perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Train and direct the efforts of plant trades Helpers, Junior Trades Workers, and Trades Workers.
  • Collaborate with functional personnel to resolve problems and recommend solutions.
  • Diagnose difficulties using machine and hand tools, troubleshoot, and develop new procedures.
  • Collaborate with functional engineers to supplement or improve original designs.

Requirements

  • Two years of an accredited Trades School with certification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Two years of work experience in their Trade.
  • Skill in operating CNC machinery and precision measurement tools.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical schematics and 3-D drawings.
  • Strong computer skills for looking up machine parts and schematics.

Additional Information

  • Must be able to work any shift or work schedule.
  • Employees are expected to follow health and safety policies and maintain a clean work area.
