Overview

Kennesaw State University is seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist in general, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing maintenance tasks while adhering to safety guidelines. Responsibilities

  • Performs all general, preventative, and supportive maintenance tasks with supervision
  • Assists all technicians on emergency and corrective maintenance
  • Change light bulbs, filters, and other items assigned
  • Maintains and cleans mechanical rooms
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
  • Previous related maintenance experience
  • Undergraduate or Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field (preferred)
  • Able to build upon existing knowledge in the technical application of maintenance work
  • Able to adapt to changing work environments
  • Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools
  • Proficient in basic plumbing skills, including installing, maintaining, and repairing pipes, valves, and fixtures
  • Skilled in basic electrical repairs, including replacing lamps, drivers, ballasts, outlets, and switches
  • Proficient in basic HVAC preventative maintenance
  • Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
  • Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
  • Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
  • Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
