Overview

The Machine Operator I - Injection Molding position involves efficiently operating a molding machine for over molding wire TC’s and probes, as well as molding various connectors and components. The role requires preparatory work and adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Spot weld and/or solder pins onto wire TC’s and probes using a semi-automated or manual welder.
  • Place wire or probe sub-assemblies into a multi-cavity mold and over mold the end.
  • Verify each unit has continuity using a multi-meter or continuity tester.
  • Perform in-process and/or final inspection for proper function and correct pins according to calibration.
  • Verify finished length of molded probes using a ruler or measuring device.
  • Place hardware into a multi-cavity mold and over mold to create a connector.
  • Wrap and package wire TC’s.
  • Practice good housekeeping and safety procedures and adhere to all company policies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years’ experience working on production machinery.
  • Math skills for verifying product dimensions and production schedules.
  • Ability to verify parts meet specifications via visual inspection.
  • Ability to efficiently pick up and place small parts in the proper position within a mold.
  • Must measure with a ruler to within 1/16 of an inch.
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods, walk, bend, and lean frequently.
  • Regularly lift 10 lbs. and occasionally lift 55 lbs.
  • Ability to work in an environment with elevated temperatures, smoke, grease, and oil.
  • Ability to follow verbal or written instructions.
  • Must work closely with coworkers to provide guidance and training.
