Overview
At Blue Origin, we are developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. The Aerospace TIG Welder will be responsible for TIG welding on fuel pumps and other components for Blue Origin's BE-4 engines as part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- TIG welding aerospace stainless steel and Inconel hardware using manual equipment.
- Weld preparation including cutting, blending, chamfering, and cleaning parts.
- Support/prepare parts for post-weld inspection processes such as dye penetrant, X-ray, and chemical treatments.
- Design support and fabrication of tooling for welding and assembly.
- Communicate with engineers on design concepts and offer suggestions for improvements.
- Perform Strip Welding and Installation on Flight Hardware.
- Review, edit, and follow Work Instructions for welding and assembly work.
- Safely work within an industrial environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience with DC- and AC-TIG welding of metals including stainless steels, aluminum, and Inconel alloys.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to document and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to use precision hand tools, standard mechanical tools, and fabrication shop equipment.
- Familiarity with the use of personal computers.

- SHIFT: A Shift (Mon-Thu 5:00am - 3:30pm).
