Overview

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is seeking a Mechanic II PRN to maintain and repair various equipment and systems within the facility. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dedicated healthcare organization that values community service and employee development.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on power plant equipment.
• Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, diagrams, and sketches.
• Change bulbs, ballasts, and starters for interior lighting as needed.
• Troubleshoot nurse call systems and telecommunication systems.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on patient room equipment.
• Maintain power plant equipment and troubleshoot failures.
• Perform maintenance on wheelchairs, utility carts, and transport carts.
• Maintain plumbing systems including commodes and sinks.
• Maintain medical gas systems such as oxygen and vacuum.
• Ensure the environmental appearance of the facility is maintained.
• Operate emergency generators and follow emergency procedures.
• Maintain equipment in nurse station settings.
• Keep all areas of the facility clean and safe.
• Assist other Facilities Technicians as needed.
• Participate in monthly department meetings.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and stock.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in a commercial setting required; hospital setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of cooling, heating systems, electrical troubleshooting, mechanical systems, and general plumbing.
• Trade/technical school education is a plus.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
