Overview

At Parker Aerospace, we develop technologies and innovative solutions for reliable and sustainable flight. As a Certified Welder, you will perform a variety of welding tasks on high-temperature and high-strength metal alloys, contributing to the development of innovative technologies and products in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and automatic welding systems per work instructions.
  • Position and adjust fixtures, attachments, or workpieces using visual acuity and hand tools.
  • Adjust processes within procedural limits to achieve conformance standards.
  • Read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, weld symbols, and quality requirements.
  • Perform proper pre-weld cleaning and handling of parts.
  • Inspect hardware to ensure specifications are met through visual inspection and measuring devices.
  • Maintain a high level of performance while following safety rules and requirements.
  • Keep work area and equipment organized, clean, and FOD-free.
  • Obtain and maintain all required qualifications and certifications in appropriate metals.
  • Perform set-up and troubleshooting of weld equipment.
  • Understand general and weld-specific safety issues.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced welders as necessary.
  • Assist with skill development, safety, and training of welders.
  • Work with Engineering to develop weld processes and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot all weld equipment in a team environment.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 8+ years of welding or related experience.
  • Able to become certified to AWS D17.1.2001.
  • Able to read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, weld symbols, and quality requirements.
  • Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
  • Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

Additional Information

  • Schedule Hours: Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3 PM.
  • This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.
