Overview
At Parker Aerospace, we develop technologies and innovative solutions for reliable and sustainable flight. As a TIG 1G Welder, you will perform a variety of welding tasks on high temperature and high strength metal alloys, contributing to the mission of enabling engineering breakthroughs.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual/automatic welding, tacking, and weld repairing at 1G on plates or pipes.
- Read technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Select, set up, and maintain welding equipment.
- Clean, cut, bend, and clamp or tack-weld components into position.
- Monitor weld quality during and after welding.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and maintain a clean work environment.
- Repair existing equipment and perform minor repairs on welding machinery.
- May perform other related responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must demonstrate knowledge in TIG welding by passing AWS D17.1 1G weld test.
- Experience with semi-automatic/orbital welders preferred.
- Ability to read, write and understand instructions, procedures, drawings and blueprints.
- Must possess a high level of manual dexterity and sound judgment.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform moderately complex mathematical calculations.
- Ability to learn/perform basic computer operations.
- May be required to lift up to 35 lbs.
