Overview

At Parker Aerospace, we develop innovative solutions for reliable and sustainable flight. As a TIG 1G Welder, you will perform a variety of welding tasks on high temperature and high strength metal alloys, contributing to our mission of enabling engineering breakthroughs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual/automatic welding, tacking, and weld repairing at 1G on plates or pipes.
  • Read technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to understand specifications.
  • Select, set up, and maintain welding equipment.
  • Clean, cut, bend, and clamp or tack-weld components into position.
  • Monitor weld quality during and after welding to ensure compliance with code requirements.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Repair existing equipment and perform minor repairs on welding machinery.
  • May perform other related responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge in TIG welding by passing AWS D17.1 1G weld test.
  • Experience with semi-automatic/orbital welders preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and understand instructions, procedures, drawings and blueprints.
  • Must possess a high level of manual dexterity and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately perform moderately complex mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to learn/perform basic computer operations.
  • May be required to lift up to 35 lbs.
