The Welder position involves welding parts and components using various methods while collaborating with a customer-focused team to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Select the appropriate welding method, such as TIG, MIG, MAG or stick.
  • Plan and lay out work from blueprints and manufacturers’ specification sheets, using shop math and measuring instruments.
  • Set up and operate a conventional lathe for the preparation of welded parts.
  • Properly identify materials and prepare components.
  • Conduct assembly activities during production.
  • Perform welding repairs on raw and finished parts.
  • Execute welding installations based on technical drawings.
  • Complete all welding work assigned according to operation instruction.
  • Verify the quality of finished work, demonstrating an understanding of specifications and workmanship.
  • Meet production goals relating to efficiency, schedules, and scrap.
  • Troubleshoot and correct process and equipment problems.
  • Collaborate with machinists and assemblers to discuss and solve problems.
  • Record accurate, timely data on computer-based systems or in manual logs.
  • Apply an understanding of the process flow of documents, materials, and parts.
  • Maintain a safe workplace by following safety procedures and completing training.
  • Clean and maintain machines and tools and keep an organized workspace.
  • Carry out relevant heat treatment operations according to instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma / GED and/or 0-2 years relevant experience.
  • Welding experience in a manufacturing or repair environment.
  • Ability to define, evaluate, and discuss quality workmanship related to welding.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive arm motions, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated track record of reliable attendance; able to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Embraces training and skill development with a positive attitude.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety by following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Customer-service mindset for on-time delivery and quality work.
  • Capable of working independently, flexibly, and accurately.
  • Good team spirit and initiative.
  • Willingness to take on other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

  • This is a 2nd shift opportunity (3:00 PM–1:30 AM), with a four-day workweek (Tuesday–Friday).
