Overview

At Parker Aerospace, we develop technologies and innovative solutions for reliable and sustainable flight. As a Certified Welder on the 2nd shift, you will perform a variety of welding tasks on high strength metal alloys, contributing to the design and manufacture of aerospace components.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual and automatic welding systems according to work instructions.
  • Position and adjust fixtures, attachments, or workpieces using visual acuity and hand tools.
  • Adjust processes to achieve conformance standards within procedural limits.
  • Read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, and weld symbols.
  • Perform pre-weld cleaning and handling of parts.
  • Inspect hardware to ensure specifications are met through visual inspection and measuring devices.
  • Maintain performance while following safety rules and requirements.
  • Keep work area and equipment organized, clean, and FOD-free.
  • Obtain and maintain required qualifications and certifications in appropriate metals.
  • Troubleshoot weld equipment and assist with skill development and training of less experienced welders.
  • Work with Engineering to develop weld processes and resolve issues.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 8+ years of welding or related experience.
  • Able to become certified to AWS D17.1.2001.
  • Ability to read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, and weld symbols.
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
  • Effective English verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others as a team player.
