Overview

We are currently exploring potential candidates for an upcoming role at McDermott for Structural Welders. This position is not yet open for active recruitment, but we want to connect with talented individuals who may be interested in future projects with us.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute groove and fillet welds on structural members in all positions.
• Primarily use FCAW and/or SMAW processes.
• Read and interpret structural steel blueprints and required weld symbols.
• Work closely with Structural Fitters to ensure fit-up and alignment meet dimensional tolerances prior to welding.
• Ensure all structural welds comply with the AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of industrial construction/maintenance industry experience.
• Valid weld certifications in FCAW and SMAW for plate and structural shapes.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex structural steel blueprints and welding symbols.
• Prior experience with heavy construction, such as Ironworker or Boilermaker support on structural steel erection.
• Experience with automated or semi-automated structural welding systems.
• Certification in operating a man-lift or aerial work platform for structural work at height.
• Prior experience on large-scale modular construction projects.
