Overview

The Maintenance Technician at Howmet Aerospace Inc. is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and equipment. Responsibilities

  • Mechanically troubleshoot, repair and maintain all types of industrial machinery, equipment and systems.
  • Rebuild or repair machines or assemblies to original operating conditions.
  • Familiar with CNC machines, punch presses, and spot-welding equipment.
  • Responsible for project management work and/or documentation of product equipment or processes.
  • Communicate, discuss, and/or review repair problems with Engineering, the Tool Room, Production Team Leads or vendors as needed.
  • Perform equipment failure analyses including preventative and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Plan and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment up time.
  • Keep neat orderly records and order spare parts.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous manufacturing experience.
  • Must be able to fabricate, weld, or machine parts as required.
  • Must have some knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting including power transmission, fluid power, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand written specifications, procedures, and prints.
  • Ability to design and execute from verbal instructions.
  • Must possess good mechanical aptitude and have the ability to work on close-tolerance equipment and/or parts.
  • Ability to use various measuring devices including torque wrench, micrometers, Vernier calipers, and dial indicators.
  • Must be able to use math to calculate dimensions and determine equipment setups.
  • Safety and quality conscious.
