Overview
SLB is seeking a proactive and highly driven individual to join our operations as a Manufacturing Welder at our facility in Mobile, AL. The role involves weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing to manufacture products according to drawings, specifications, and other forms of instruction.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual and automatic GTAW welding in accordance with approved procedures, engineering requirements, and quality standards.
- Perform fit-up, alignment, tack welding, preparation, and final welding of production components, assemblies, and test samples.
- Set up and operate welding equipment, purge systems, tooling, and associated manufacturing equipment.
- Perform fabrication, mechanical assembly, product preparation, and related manufacturing activities in support of production, testing, repair, and qualification operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
- Verify traceability requirements and accurately complete production and quality records.
- Perform visual inspections and basic dimensional verification of completed work.
- Safely operate material handling equipment, hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices as authorized.
- Maintain compliance with all quality, safety, environmental, and housekeeping requirements.
- Support training, continuous improvement, troubleshooting, and other manufacturing activities as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical welding training preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing, fabrication, welding, mechanical assembly, or related industrial experience.
- Minimum 2 years of GTAW welding experience.
- Experience performing precision fit-up, alignment, and fabrication activities.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Ability to perform manual GTAW welding to required quality standards.
- Ability to perform mechanical assembly and fabrication activities.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, measuring devices, and welding equipment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Ability to qualify for the company's GTAW welding procedures.
- Ability to qualify for the company's orbital welding procedures.
- Ability to obtain forklift, overhead crane, and rigging authorizations.
- Ability to complete all required safety training.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
