Overview

This temporary position involves setting up, operating, and tending welding machines for metal products and components. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and offers opportunities for skill development in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Turn and press knobs and buttons or enter operating instructions into welding machines.
  • Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
  • Load or feed work pieces into welding machines to join or bond components.
  • Correct problems by adjusting controls or by stopping machines and opening holding devices.
  • Inspect, measure, or test completed metal work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Record operational information on specified production reports.
  • Read blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to determine product or job instructions or specifications.
  • Assemble, align, and clamp work pieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate and/or industrial experience.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Basic mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take instruction from other team members.

Additional Information

  • Working conditions are normal for a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
  • Must observe and adhere to all safety rules and practices, including PPE requirements.
  • Work boots and long pants are a requirement of this position.
