Overview

Components and Controls, Inc. is seeking a Welder to join their team. The company specializes in providing high-quality instrumentation and industrial products, along with custom fabricated solutions, to enhance operational efficiency for their customers.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand shop drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Use a tape measure accurately.
  • Follow directions and work independently.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations related to welding and fabrication.
  • Operate machines and tools used in welding and fabrication, such as grinders and bandsaws.
  • Maintain housekeeping and assist team members with daily tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and programs.
  • Follow the production schedule.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years welding experience required.
  • Certificate or degree from trade school, vo-tech, apprenticeship, or military trade school preferred.
  • General understanding of AWS, ASME IX, and Navsea welding specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical principles and techniques related to welding.
  • Sanitary/process pipe BPE welding preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of visual inspection and mechanical requirements of welds.
  • Experience with thin wall tubing below .049 wall thickness.
  • Ability to fuse weld and 100% penetration welds.
  • Experience GTAW welding stainless steel, carbon steel, OSS, HSS, Monel, and Inconel.
  • Experience with manual machining and lathe operations.
  • Ability to cut, thread, and bevel pipes for preparation of welding.
  • Ability to weld in all positions: vertical, horizontal, and overhead.
  • Previous welding experience with certification preferred but not required.
  • Ability to pass local welding test D9.1 section 6.4.
