Overview
At Blue Origin, we are developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. The FCAW Welder/Fabricator role involves supporting the Enterprise Fabrication Division in fabricating weldments for various projects while ensuring safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and industry specifications.
- Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to blueprint and industry specifications using various equipment.
- Prepare welds by cutting, blending, chamfering, and cleaning parts.
- Collaborate with engineering to refine welding processes and designs.
- Provide manufacturing feedback to design engineers.
- Provide process improvement feedback to process engineers.
- Safely work within an industrial environment.
- Maintain a continuous improvement mentality.
Requirements
- 3+ years of direct experience.
- Experience with FCAW, TIG, and stick welding of carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Ability to pass practical weld test in all positions to applicable welding code.
- Ability to troubleshoot welds and welding equipment.
- Self-sufficient and able to work within a team or independently.
- Ability to use precision hand tools and fabrication shop equipment.
- Ability to develop and fabricate fixtures and tooling.
- Ability to climb ladders, work in small areas, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships.

Additional Information
- Multiple positions available.
- Shifts available: A Shift (Mon - Thu 5:00am - 3:30pm), B Shift (Mon-Thu 3:00pm - 1:30am).
- Local travel required up to 20%.
- A technical welding assessment will be part of the interview process.
