Overview

Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, is a small satellite company focused on national security space. The Aerospace Vehicle Technician will perform various tasks in support of spacecraft integration, MLI installations, and testing, specifically on the 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Work from design drawings, sketches, blueprints, and instructions to integrate designs and meet production requirements.
  • Perform assembly and integration tasks to precise tolerances using effective methods for engineering specifications.
  • Operate specialized equipment during spacecraft assembly, including hydraulic test consoles and alignment fixtures.
  • Determine the sequence of operations and install components in space vehicles, including system leak and pressure checks.
  • Handle fragile MLI films and materials with care during installation onto test and flight articles.
  • Support the installation of MLI and SLI on spacecraft, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Assist engineers in identifying improved procedures and perform duties at specific test stations.
  • Record and analyze test data, generating reports, charts, and graphs.
  • Acquire necessary certifications and perform related duties with minimal supervision.
  • Provide instruction and support to colleagues in related classifications.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical principles to perform all tasks.
  • Support range operations, including tests, integration, and hardware moves.
  • Operate computer-controlled equipment, including heated tools and cranes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical assembly for high-reliability products.
  • Proven experience in building and terminating wiring harnesses to a high standard.
  • Experience using a variety of hand tools, including scalpels and scissors.
  • Skilled in interpreting mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficient in using inspection tools such as calipers and digital multimeters.
  • Experience with assembly tooling and/or composites fabrication.
  • Proficient in using various hand and power tools.
  • Experience with mixing epoxy materials.

  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
  • This is a union-represented position governed by the Cabinet Makers, Millmen and Industrial Carpenters Union.
  • The selected candidate must be able to work any shift as assigned.
