Overview

Northwood is a modern space infrastructure company focused on building a global network of phased array ground stations for reliable satellite communication. The Integration Technician II role involves supporting the build, integration, and testing of hardware for antenna systems, aimed at individuals with strong mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electromechanical subassemblies for antenna systems.
  • Integrate subassemblies into complete parabolic and phased-array antenna assemblies.
  • Perform mechanical alignment, fastening, and structural integration using hand and power tools.
  • Follow engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and build documentation.
  • Conduct basic verification checks including fit, alignment, and functional inspection.
  • Support prototype builds and iterative hardware development.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces, tools, and hardware inventory.
  • Document build steps, issues, and deviations during assembly.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve assembly processes.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly experience.
  • Ability to travel weekly or monthly as needed.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through hands-on projects, shop work, robotics, or automotive work.
  • Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings or assembly instructions.
  • Experience using common hand tools and shop equipment.
  • Comfort working with precision components and small mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of workmanship.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hardware development environment.
