Overview

The Pipewelder A is responsible for welding together piping metal components according to blueprints and specifications, utilizing knowledge of various materials and equipment. The position requires a strong understanding of pipe welding procedures and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Weld up prefabricated piping components using various welding procedures as outlined in blueprints or specifications.
  • Chips off excess weld, slag and splatter using a power grinder, chipping gun or manual hammer.

Requirements

  • 3 years of pipe welding experience is required, but vocational training is acceptable.
  • ABS (American Bureau of Ship Building) certification may be required in some cases.
  • Knowledge of pipe welding procedures and safety requirements.
