Overview

The Fire Sprinkler Fitter is responsible for installing sprinkler heads, valves, and pipes in new and renovated structures with minimal supervision. Summit Fire & Security is a leading fire protection company that offers a range of services including design, installation, testing, inspections, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, fabricate, and install steel pipe and CPVC pipe for fire sprinkler systems.
  • Install and hang various pipes, sprinkler heads, fittings, valves, and hangers according to blueprints.
  • Install and trim valves for wet, dry, and pre-action fire protection systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
  • Clean, inspect, and service tools according to company policies.
  • Secure and account for tools, equipment, and supplies on the job site.
  • Report daily to the field foreman on progress and job-related issues.
  • Assist in training sprinkler apprentices.
  • Follow safety programs and participate in weekly Toolbox talks.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of experience installing pipe systems and valves required.
  • Experience operating an excavator and running underground fire lines.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to read electronic blueprints strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
