Overview

This role at Sargent & Lundy offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing flexibility with three days in the office and two days remote. The position focuses on utilizing creativity and innovation to develop CAD 3D design models of steel structures and concrete foundations for 2D drawing deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior designers by producing structural drawings that are completed on-time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical designers to resolve clashes within the 3D model.
  • Travel to client facilities with experienced project team members to verify on-site physical design conditions.
  • Adapt to a wide range of technologies in power generation, mining, oil & gas, and renewables.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design Technology preferred.
  • CAD certificate required if non-degreed.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in structural design.
  • Proficiency in at least one major CAD software (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation).
  • Awareness of American Concrete Institute (ACI) for foundation design.
  • Awareness of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) manual for steel design.
  • Awareness of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Time management.
