Overview
The Production Worker - Winder position involves manufacturing dry-type transformers in a safety-minded, multi-shift environment. Team members are responsible for operating winding machines, ensuring quality standards, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Operate a power driven winding machine to wind larger coils for power transformers.
- Set up assigned work to meet specifications.
- Exercise sound judgment based on knowledge of accepted methods and procedures.
- Question all deviations from specifications with a supervisor.
- Follow safe work guidelines and procedures.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Completion of High School or GED is required.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions from blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of methods, practices, techniques, terms, definitions, and standards required in the manufacture of transformers.
- Knowledge of copper and aluminum welding – gas & TIG.
- Previous experience with metal forming and/or assembly, with transformer industry experience considered an asset.
- Must be able to work 1st shift (Monday – Friday 8 hour shifts).
