Overview
The Technician, Structures role involves adhering to safety and environmental policies while performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on customer aircraft. The position requires a combination of technical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements.
- Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in 5-S activities.
- Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and perform maintenance on customer aircraft.
- Remove and install aircraft components as required.
- Fabricate and modify structural modifications on aircraft parts.
- Perform minor structural repairs on composite components.
- Assist in conducting hidden damage inspections of aircraft structures.
- Assist with complex structural repairs either on or off aircraft.
- Perform and document work per appropriate manuals and regulations.
- Operate ground support equipment as required.
- Assist with aircraft component repair.
- Perform mechanical and electrical removals and installations as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Typically 1-2 years structural sheet metal repair or modification experience.
- Sheet metal A/C Tech school or equivalent schooling.
- Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
- A Certification, A & P Certification, or Repairman Certificate.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form.
- Own a basic set of hand tools and demonstrate inventory and control of tools.
- Must obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment Qualifications.
- Ability to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled work days and holidays.
- Ability to work in seasonal or inclement weather outside.
- Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge.
- Basic PC skills.
