Overview

The Technician, Structures role involves adhering to safety and environmental policies while performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on customer aircraft. The position requires a combination of technical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Bombardier General Work Requirements.
  • Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in 5-S activities.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and perform maintenance on customer aircraft.
  • Remove and install aircraft components as required.
  • Fabricate and modify structural modifications on aircraft parts.
  • Perform minor structural repairs on composite components.
  • Assist in conducting hidden damage inspections of aircraft structures.
  • Assist with complex structural repairs either on or off aircraft.
  • Perform and document work per appropriate manuals and regulations.
  • Operate ground support equipment as required.
  • Assist with aircraft component repair.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical removals and installations as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Typically 1-2 years structural sheet metal repair or modification experience.
  • Sheet metal A/C Tech school or equivalent schooling.
  • Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
  • A Certification, A & P Certification, or Repairman Certificate.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form.
  • Own a basic set of hand tools and demonstrate inventory and control of tools.
  • Must obtain appropriate Ground Support Equipment Qualifications.
  • Ability to work unscheduled overtime including nonscheduled work days and holidays.
  • Ability to work in seasonal or inclement weather outside.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge.
  • Basic PC skills.
